Database

In the starting version of ALex we lay the basis for a real App for aquarium fish keepers with the large tropical fish and invertebrates database. Included in this database are 1400 freshwater fish, 120 invertebrates, 170 marine fish and 20 more marine species.

Beneath a excellent photo the main data for each species about origin and tank keeping are shown. In the marine section you find information about socialization with corals and invertebrates.

My Aquarium

Each user is able to create an aquarium with data containing size, pH and temperature. Also the date for a regularly water change and filter maintenace can be added. Species from the database can be added to the aquarium to have a list of owned fishes.

In the category “Groupchange” the feature “Species for my Aquarium” can be selected. Now ALex will search the database for suitable species for the specified aquarium.

With this feature it is easily possible to determine whether a new fish or invertebrate can be added to the aquarium if nothing else than the name is known.

After a very short period for review, our application was approved for sale on the App Store by Apple on Saturday, April, 10th. The fact that no errors are known – except a picture being too large – maybe is the result of the excellent work of the programmers and the reason for the short time of review.

This App should be the first one being a real help for all Aquarium fish keepers all over the world.
